My focus lays on the spatial experience in nature

I am interested in landscapes and discover in them patterns of horizontal and vertical lines. Horizontals lead me to waterscapes, often structured by cliffs, bays or harbours. The verticals tend towards forests where the trees are the structural elements of the surface. The intermingling of both accompanied by diagonals is a recurrent structure in house paintings or urban scenes. I often work from image to abstraction, but I follow as well the opposite approach by starting abstract and finding the image as I go.
